Most people are satisfied with just doing enough. What the task requires, the bare minimum, the littlest effort for the optimum results. While that's good for the sake of effectiveness, sometimes there are extra credits when you go above and beyond. ☕️ Like a barista who ensures the coffee is hotter for the customer who's driving a long distance. 🚗 Or the Grab driver who waits an extra minute to make sure the passanger is safely through the guard house. 👩🏫 Or the teacher who purposely sends a video message of encouragement before her student takes an important exam. Above all else, it also demonstrates the "human-ness" of the transaction. 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑜𝑢𝑡𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒? Repeat sales. Referrals. Raving reviews. But above all else, it pleases the service provider too. Because deep down, we all know when we did a good job, when we stepped up even when we didn't need to, or when we put the interest of others before us. That's when a job becomes rewarding extrinsically and intrinsically. One thing I experienced last week when I was at Verne Harnish's @Scaling Up, hosted by the great peeps at Lynch Pin Holdings. Verne, the superstar of the show, actually stayed back and shook everyone's hand at the end of both days. He certainly did not need to, given he has a full day of delivery and travels. Yet, the smallest gesture goes a long way, and now, as you read this, I might have just encouraged you to meet him in person one day. (BTW, I hope it's not just for the handshake, really. His vast knowledge of anything growth-related will blow even the most seasoned entrepreneurs away! 🤯) That's one instance of someone who went above and beyond, and played in the extra mile. 🤔 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡'𝑠 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑎𝑙𝑙?
